FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK 2003-2004
With the great support of our sponsors-Northern
Coalfields Ltd., through their visionary leaders, and your moral support, we are
bound to continue to meet the expectations that everyone has from DPS Nigahi.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the session 2003-2004.
This is for the sixth consecutive session that I have had the privilege to address
you through this page of the Almanac.
It shall be really difficult for me to highlight all the achievements of our students
so far through this page. However, with 100% pass; 96% Ist Division; 84.4 above
70%; 62.5 above 80%; 46.9 above 85%; 6.3 above 90% marks and an overall aggregate
of 77.96 with 3.4% distinction ratio, the first batch of Class X students have really
made all of us proud. Six of our students qualified NTSE 2002 at state Level and
two students in National Level. Our students are also making their presence felt
in the National Level sports events of CBSE, State & Central Govt. competitions.
In the past few we proved ourselves to be trend setters in organizing various competitions
like that of Exhibitions and Inter House Competitions of a very high order. In the
coming session of 2003-04 we intend to organize Youth Parliament in the school in
order to enable the youth to understand the importance of Democracy and the Democratic
way to govern the country.
We have tried to bring up each and every child entrusted to us on to the stage in
some or the other form.
With the guidance of DPS Society and support of the NCL we are going to add in the
ensuing session yet another feather to our cap by starting class XI. Let me assure
you all that utmost care is being taken to implement the ideas and latest curriculum
in the school as envisioned by NCERT & CBSE.
Delhi Public School Society under the dynamic leadership of Mr. Narendra Kumar,
Chairman, and other members not only look forward to the enhancement of the students
but also pay equal emphasis on the performance and progress being made by the teaching
and administrative staff by closely monitoring, scrutinizing their work and guiding
them from time to time. By keeping the famous axiom in mind “A teacher ceases to
be a teacher when he ceases to be a learner”, the ‘Education Management Centre’
of DPS Society conducts various in service courses for the teachers of the school
wherein they are exposed to the latest pedagogical methods for enabling the students
to put forth their best.
With your support and cooperation I am sure we shall be achieving many more successes
in the years to come.
I hope this Almanac will prove to be a good link between you and the teachers.
