Dear Parents, students and staff,
Welcome to the session of 2015-2016.
Mr. Inderjeet Singh one of our star alumnus brought laurels not only to the school but also to the entire Nation by winning Bronze Medal in Shot Put event at the Asian Games 2014 held at Incheon, South Korea and this year he has made us proud by not only winning Gold medal at the National Games 2015 held at Kerala but also set a new meet record of 20.14 meters throw.
8 Teachers have been provided with Certificate of Appreciation by HRD Minister.
The most coveted CBSE teacher award 2013 was conferred upon me on 4th September 2014 at Manekshaw Centre by Honourable Minister of Human Resources, Govt. of India, Ms. Smriti Irani. At the personal level I remain greatly indebted to all the students and staff of Delhi Public School Nigahi, NCL management, DPS Society and all well-wishers for the same and feel more responsible for steering this institute towards loftier heights.
Bible says, “What you seek so you get.”
Guru Granth Sahib says, “Jo jiyee so ugve.” (Whatever we have within our hearts comes forth)
Khalil Gibran has written, “When we long for something the whole universe conspires to enable us to achieve it.”
Our religious texts, philosophers, thinkers are so openly giving away their secret of good and successful life to us. It will be very unwise of us if we do not take advantage of these secrets. We need to not only aspire to make our lives better but also make the world a better place to live in.
This we can do by remaining more focused and involved within the circle of our ‘influence’ and spending our time and energy in it than to waste our efforts in remaining in the circle of ‘concern’.
It is good to be concerned as to who will lead our country; when will man land on the Mars, whether India will win the next World Cup or not, but unless and until we spend our time and efforts in our own fields and for ourselves, we will fail to achieve success and fulfillment.
As parents we need to invest our precious time with our children and avoid comparing them with other students.
As students we need to try to understand what are learning and develop self-learning skill and self-disciplined.
As teachers we need to always sharpen our tools by being masters of our subjects and also develop our communication skills and most importantly love our jobs.
With the support of NCL management & guidance of DPS Society we hope for better results in the days to come.
If any shortcoming is observed by you, you are requested to communicate the same directly to the subject / class teacher or the undersigned, instead of waiting for any formal meetings or get togethers.
As a parent you are advised to go through the Almanac on regular basis and try to remain in touch with the school as much as possible.
Wishing you and your ward all the best for the session.
With warm regards
Sukhwant Singh Thaper, Principal
